Exchange Students are required to obtain Travel Health Insurance for the benefit of their own health and safety while studying abroad. Medical expenses are expensive in HK and Asia in general. Thus, having appropriate insurance will minimize these costs should they arise.

As such, we require exchange students to obtain insurance which meets a basic set of minimum specifications. The exact details of the minimum requirements will be included in the 1st Exchange Information Package.

For students who are unable to obtain an insurance which fully meets our specifications, there will be a plan available, which students can purchase thru HKUST that meets all our requirements. This plan is $249 USD for 5 months coverage. Student will receive more information on how to apply for this insurance through HKUST in their 1st Exchange Information Package.
