A recent study by researchers at
the Chinese University of Hong Kong has found that HKUST has
the highest research productivity in economics in East Asia
based on the publication of their articles in top journals.
Conducted by Jang C. Jin and Louis Yau, the study covers the
periods from 1990-1996. HKUST's research output in economics
research was described to be comparable to the best economics
departments in the US over the period 1984-93.
