[eNews] Management Development Program for Zhongyuan Bank

Zhongyuan Bank, the biggest lender based in  the Henan provincial capital of Zhengzhou, collaborated with the Executive Education Office for a 5-day Management Development Program for their executives in August. This is the first time the bank has partnered with a business school in Hong Kong.

Designed for 38 middle managers from 18 departments and branches of the bank, this program was led by HKUST faculty and practitioners, including Prof Joseph Salvacruz, Prof Jerome Yen, Prof Hui Kai Lung, Prof Don Hau Fung, and Mr Alan Luk (Head of Private Banking and Trust Services, Hang Seng Bank). The lectures covered Cybersecurity, FinTech, Customer Experience and Customer Relationship Management, Hong Kong Capital Markets, Credit Risk Management, Systematic Risk and Financial Product Innovation and Future Trends.

To encourage participants to apply their learning to resolve real issues, an action learning project on Customer Experience Management was conducted during the program.  The class was divided into small groups and visited different banks to experience customer service and to identify various customer touchpoints. Each group presented, shared their observations and learning points and finally gave recommendations. Participants found the program very practical.
