[eNews] Preparing Organizations for the Digital Age

The digital world of business is characterized by an accelerated pace of technology advances that are changing the rules — and risks — of every aspect of running a successful organization. As challenging as it seems, this evolving landscape should not be viewed as a mountain too steep to climb. Instead, it should be embraced as an enabler that allows organizations to exploit new pathways to value creation as a means to gain sustainable long-term competitive advantages.

The Executive Education Office hosted a half-day forum on “Preparing Your Organization for the Digital Age” at the HKUST Business School Central on 29 January. Four distinguished faculty members - Prof Chris Doran, Prof Hui Kai Lung, Prof Joseph Salvacruz, and Prof Caroline Wang shared their insights and views on digital business models, strategic marketing challenges, trends in cybersecurity and IT development, and how to make quality decisions in the digital age. The event attracted more than 60 C-level executives, general managers, human resources professionals, and business owners. They represented 40 companies in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including HKSAR government departments. Participants played an active role in talking about their challenges and exchanging views in a panel discussion.

Meanwhile, representatives from FWD and Estee Lauder won a free course for a 2-day open-enrolment program offered by the Executive Education Office after completing a survey on executive education!
