[eNews] Alumni Entrepreneurs Get-Together

The School has been actively promoting entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. On 16 May, about 30 alumni entrepreneurs gathered for a lunch in the newly established MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node to network and exchange ideas. The venue also houses the office of ORII – the voice powered smart ring developed by a team of MBA alumni founders.

Alongside, there was a showcase corner featuring the alumni companies’ products and leaflets. Please click here for the event photos.

Alumni who are running their own business or planning to start a new venture can contact the School’s Alumni Development Team for networking events and information.

Alumni Workshop on Mediation

Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process for resolving disputes between parties with the facilitation of a neutral mediator. The mediator assists the disputing parties in finding mutually acceptable solutions to their disputes. Mediation is getting more important in business as it promotes win-win solutions and is considered more cost-effective compared to litigation.

On 1 June, our Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumnus Winston Siu, Chairman of G2G Mediation Centre Limited, conducted an introductory workshop for fellow business alumni. The stimulating workshop covered the general concept, application and benefits of mediation.

Winston is an accredited commercial mediator as well as a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, London) trained mediator assessor. Prior to being a mediator, Winston was in senior management for private and public companies.
