[eNews] Two New Markets for Executive Education

The Executive Education Office has been successful in acquiring new clients from two new markets - India and Kuwait.

A group of high performing relationship managers from Citibank India came to HKUST for a two-day “Future of Investing” program. The program offered in-depth insights and knowledge for participants to understand and cope with the capricious environment. Professor Abhiroop MUKHERJEE, Professor Entela BENZ-SALIASI, Professor Philip CHENG and Professor Jerome YEN from Department of Finance covered the topics including “Emerging Trends in Finance”, “ESG Investing”, “Multi-Asset Allocation and Alternative Investment Funds” and “Impacts of FinTech on Bank”. The group also visited CASH Algo to understand how advanced technology applied in financial services.

Another 26 executives from various companies/industries in Kuwait participated in a five-day “The Digital Mindset” program which was jointly offered by the HKUST Business School and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. The program aimed to help participants prepare for the digital world and establish an innovation management mindset. A strong team of HKUST faculty across different departments was involved in this program, including Professor Chris DORAN, Professor XU Yan, Professor HUI Kai-Lung and Professor ZHENG Rong, Professor WANG Wenbo. Professor Michael SUNG, Chairman of CarbonBlue Innovations, Professor Jack LAU, Chairman of Swanland Management and Mr Gregory FOX, Vice President of Corporate Marketing & Brand Strategy of Huawei Technologies were invited to talk about their real-life experiences with the audience. The group has also visited SenseTime and CASH Algo to learn more about the practical usage of the latest technologies in business.
