[eNews] AAPBS’s Ongoing Dialogue on the Future of Work

The Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) is a growing network of more than a hundred member schools and institutions that share a common goal to advance business education in the region. The association conducted its second annual meeting in Australia in November 2018.

Hosted by the UNSW Business School, the meeting brought together deans and senior administrators of member schools, thought leaders and experts of different countries, to foster collaboration and exchange ideas. They took the opportunity to discuss a hot topic ‘The Future of Work’, in which participants have shared best practice and benchmarked strategies.

In addressing challenges of global relevance, the meeting presented the second occasion for member schools to get together to examine this pressing issue, especially the impact of technology on job opportunities. The first of such occasion was the AAPBS annual meeting hosted at the HKUST Business School back in May 2018.

The two meetings examined what skills will be required in the new digital economy and drew on practical experiences from peer institutions. The Dean of the HKUST Business School has served as the President of AAPBS in 2018 and furthered the association’s established culture of collaboration.
