[eNews] HKUST-SKOLKOVO EMBA for Eurasia – First Module at HKUST

The first cohort of the HKUST-SKOLKOVO EMBA for Eurasia came to Hong Kong the first time for their third module in January. This 10-day module provided the class with an opportunity to experience on-campus student life in the program’s second home campus – HKUST.

Attending lectures from our renowned faculty, Prof Tai Yuen CHEN, Prof Larry FRANKLIN, and Prof Caroline WANG, students developed and strengthened their skills and knowledge needed to succeed in Eurasia. The evening seminars by Prof Jack LAU and Prof Egor PEREVERZEV also enabled them to better understand digitalisation and business negotiation in China.

The students were also given an opportunity to visit three leading innovative technological companies in China: Tencent Holdings Limited, Da-jiang Innovations, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. They met senior executives for first-hand information and exchange sessions. They left Shenzhen with new inspirations!

Study is important, but so is fun and cultural experience. Prof Steven J DEKREY, Associate Dean of HKUST Business School and Chairman of International Academic Council of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, hosted a cocktail reception at his on-campus residence to welcome the class. The students also spent a great night at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy Valley Racecourse, where they enjoyed the unique equestrian performance. They were also given a rare opportunity to see the Unicorn Hakkan Dance demonstrated by the Joint Association of Traditional Hakka Unicorn in Sai Kung and Hang Hau Hong Kong. The students went home with wonderful memories to share with their families and friends!
