[eNews] Management Development Programs for HKSAR Government Officers

The Management Development Program (MDP) offered by the Executive Education Office has reached a milestone by training more than 1,200 officers for 31 HKSAR Government departments and related organizations since its launch in 2000.

This flagship program offers tailor-made sessions to address the needs of officers in middle to senior management.

The 30th and 31st classes were held between September 2018 and January 2019, with a total of 88 government officers from 17 departments/organizations.  Each class completed a nine-day program that covered “Team Building and Problem Solving” by external consultants, “Managerial Decision Making” by Professor Caroline WANG from the Department of Management, “Leadership and Change Management” by Professor Jean VANHOEGAERDEN from Ashridge Executive Education at Hult International Business School, “Crisis and Stress Management” by Professor Hilton CHAN from the Department of ISOM, and “Negotiation” by Professor Stephen NASON from the Department of Management.

A celebration dinner officiated by the Associate Dean, Professor XU Yan was held on campus for the participants on January 23.  16 directorates and senior officers from 12 government departments and organizations joined the event and presented certificates to their colleagues who have successfully completed the program.

The 32nd and 33rd classes will be scheduled in September and October 2019, respectively.
