[eNews] 32 Students Joined a Study Trip to Brazil

In January, 32 GBUS (Global Business) students joined a ten-day study trip to Brazil. This has been the biggest group of students joining a study trip and the furthest destination our students have travelled to so far.

This is a credit-bearing course, offered in the form of a study trip, to another country in both the winter and summer term. Each study trip will consist of lectures delivered by faculty members at the host institution, company visits and cultural adventure in the host country.

The students visiting Brazil first made cultural visits to the famous tourist spots in Sao Paulo. They attended four lectures, made three company visits and attended one business talk arranged by our partner school, FGV ESEP.  They learnt a lot about the socio-economic issues as well as the business challenges that Brazilian companies face from the lectures and company visits.

The group then took a coach from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, where they visited the famous Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach, Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain and the Museum of Tomorrow. They learned a lot about the history and architecture in this famous city.

Upon their return, students will prepare a learning log to reflect on the key takeaways from the trip. This course is designed to help students understand the business environments and cultures in different countries in order to develop a more global perspective.
