[eNews] B-School Leaders Offer Valuable Advice on Our Research Agenda

Our research portfolio has grown tremendously over the years, as a result of our growingly diverse and vibrant faculty mix and our ongoing effort to continuously improve.  Our success will depend on our ability to address new challenges and emerging opportunities in the future.

To know more about where we stand globally and to identify areas for improvement, we have invited three senior administrators from the world’s leading universities to conduct an external review on our research activities. Chaired by Prof Edward A. SNYDER, Dean of Yale School of Management, the External Review Committee - consisting two other accomplished scholars, Prof Dipak Chand JAIN, President (European) of CEIBS, and Prof Arun RAI of Georgia State University - visited HKUST between March 25-27.

In addition to offering specific advice to the School on its strengths and challenges, the Committee has provided valuable suggestions for the School to reinforce its research agenda and enhance its faculty strength in developing more high-impact studies.

The Committee met over 70 members of senior management of the University, faculty and students at the Business School. Their intensive schedule included visits to our Behavioral Sciences Research Laboratories and the work site of our future incubator.
