[eNews] International Cultural Festival: Celebrating Diversity

The Business Cohort Community (BCC) together with the Business School UG Programs Office organized the International Cultural Festival on March 6 and 7 to celebrate our diverse cultures.  A much-loved signature BCC event, the Festival promotes internationalization and integration among business students from different backgrounds.

Student groups from Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Malaysia and the US set up snack and game booths to introduce their cultures to the HKUST community.  In addition to showcasing international delicacies and traditional games, our talented students put on a spectacular variety show with Acapella, pop song singing, Indian dancing, K-pop dancing, Chinese rapping, Peking opera, Indonesian traditional songs and even a violin performance!  The audience was in awe and amazed by the talents of the student performances throughout the event.

Italian students introduced their homemade Baci Di Alassio, which means “Kisses from Alassio”, a symbol of Ligurian cuisine.

Students shared their cultures by presenting different delicious delicacies
