[eNews] Management Program for Middle & Senior Government Officers in China

In July, a group of 35 middle and senior government officials from western part of China attended the 2-week 93rd Management Program, which was jointly organized by the Executive Education Office and Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation (a non-profit organization).

The program aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview on economic, social and human resources development and also business management, so as to improve their management skills. It was led by HKUST faculty across different departments and practitioners, including Prof. XU Yan and Prof. Gordon LAM from the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management; Prof. Francis LUI from the Department of Economics; Prof. GONG Yaping and Prof. Bilian SULLIVAN from the Department of Management; Prof. Allen HUANG from the Department of Accounting, and Ms Suprince MA, Co-founder of RAISE Consulting Ltd.

Apart from lectures, participants visited ICAC, the Civil Service Training and Development Institute, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Blue House, the Commission on Poverty and the Hong Kong History Museum. Speakers from World Vision and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service conducted sharing sessions with participants. These activities provided valuable opportunities for participants to understand the latest economic trends, social issues, historical background and development in Hong Kong.
