[eNews] HKUST and Microsoft Launch Hong Kong’s First AI-Centric MBA Elective

The HKUST Business School and Microsoft Hong Kong announced the city’s first MBA elective that features an AI (Artificial Intelligence) curriculum. The new AI elective, to be available for our MBA students in early 2020, is part of Microsoft’s Global AI Business School initiative that provides the latest thinking on AI transformation in business.

The HKUST MBA Program, with one of the most flexible curriculums in Asia to meet the career aspirations of students, will introduce this new elective based on the online materials provided by Microsoft’s Global AI Business School. These online materials include four key modules: Defining an AI Strategy, Enabling an AI-ready Culture, Responsible AI in Business, and AI Technology for Business Leaders.

Microsoft and HKUST will tailor core components for Hong Kong business leaders, with case studies, practical guides and talks to help participants stay at the cutting edge of AI. The course will be also offered to students of HKUST MSc programs, with a plan to extend to executive education.

At the signing ceremony, held on November 1, an industry-academia panel including Alain CROZIER, Corporate Vice President, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Greater China Region; Cally CHAN, General Manager of Microsoft Hong Kong and Macau; and Prof TAM Kar Yan, Dean of HKUST Business School discussed with journalists and practitioners on a topic - “Importance of Responsible AI to Business Leaders of Tomorrow”.
