[eNews] Government Officials Complete Management Development Programs

Since launching in 2000, the Management Development Program (MDP) offered by the Executive Education Office has reached a milestone of training more than 1,300 officers from 32 HKSAR government departments and related organizations.

Led by HKUST and overseas faculty members, this flagship program offers tailor-made sessions to address the needs of middle to senior management officers.

The 32nd and 33rd classes, held between September 2019 and January 2020, worked with 90 government officers from 19 bureaus, departments and related organizations.  Each class completed a nine-day program that covered “Team Building and Problem Solving” by external consultants, “Managerial Decision Making” by Professor Caroline WANG from the Department of Management, “Leadership and Change Management” by Professor Jean VANHOEGAERDEN from Ashridge Executive Education at Hult International Business School, “Crisis and Stress Management” by Professor Hilton CHAN from Department of ISOM, and “Negotiation” by Professor Stephen NASON from Department of Management.

On January 16, a celebration dinner officiated by Professor Yan XU, Associate Dean (HKUST EMBA, Executive Education and China Strategy), was held on campus. This happy occasion was joined by 21 directorates and senior officers from 15 government departments and organizations. Certificates were also presented to those who have completed the program.

Congratulations to the 32nd and 33rd classes of MDP! We look forward to welcoming more participants from various government departments in 2020.
