[eNews] Over 300 Local University Students Participate in Fintechstic 2021 Workshops

This year, the month-long event Fintechstic 2021 has broadened its scope by opening its doors to the public and all full-time students at local universities.

Jointly organized by the Fintech Research Project of the HKUST Business School and AQUMON and supported by InvestHK to celebrate Hong Kong Fintech Week 2021, the event has attracted nearly 200 participants in the Quiz Challenge and over 300 students from HKUST and other local universities so far. All three workshops were successfully completed in October.

Industry experts Mr Kenneth SHIH, Head of Sales and Marketing of AQUMON, and Ms Angele LAW, Director of Strategy and Programs of CATALYST Education Lab (CEL), shared their insights and experiences with students and covered several key topics, including local and regional fintech trends, the latest market development of robo-advisors, insider advice on developing a career in fintech, and skills to tackle and analyze business cases.

What’s more, over 20 teams of university students have submitted proposals for the case competition. Six teams will be selected to compete in the final round in mid-November. To encourage broader participation, the public can also vote for their favorite team online between November 8 and 11. The team with the most votes will be awarded the “Most Innovative Award”.  Find out more at
