Management Professors Named Most Prolific Scholars

A bibliometric study (of prolific, productive, and most cited authors and institutions) has reviewed articles published from 2000-2012 on expatriate management. The Department of Management has achieved remarkable results:

  • Regarding the most productive authors and institutions based on journal quality, the Department is ranked No.1 to No.3 (across nine journal quality indexes). Two faculty Prof Gong Yaping and Prof Riki Takeuchi are among the top ten.
  • Regarding the top 25-authors and institutions based on citations (self-citations excluded), the Department is ranked No.1. The two faculty are among the top 15.

Meanwhile, Prof Gong, who is also the Head of the Management Department, has received a number of recognitions recently:

  • His co-authored paper (Unfolding the proactive process for creativity: Integration of the employee proactivity, information exchange, and psychological safety perspectives) was recognized as a finalist in the Impact Award at Journal of Management in 2017.
  • His co-authored paper (A multilevel model of team goal orientation, information exchange, and creativity.) has received the 2016 Emerald Citation of Excellence Award. The Award recognizes Dr. Gong as the author of one of the most highly cited and highly influential papers published in 2015 relating to the areas of Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Marketing.
  • He has been recognized for exemplary performance as editorial board outstanding reviewer at Academy of Management Journal in 2016.
  • He has received the Best Senior Editor Award at Management and Organization Review (Editor-Chief Arie Lewin from Duke University and published Cambridge University Press), the official journal of the International Association for Chinese Management Research.
