Professor Roger Chen

PhD, University of Texas at Dallas

Professor Roger Chen is experienced in teaching executive education programs and business consulting. He is the founding co-editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asia Business Studies and was a Vice President of Silicon Valley Business Forum (SBF) SBF Inc., a Silicon Valley based research and consulting firm. From 1999 to 2001, he served as an advisor to founders of, a web portal company. Currently, he serves as a foreign expert advisor at the post-doctor research group of China Merchant Group (中国招商集团). He is actively involved in business consulting and his clients include Panasonic, Caterpillar, Bristol-Myers Squibb Co, Fujitsu, NIKKO Capital, Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and other Fortune 500 and high tech firms.

Professor Chen has also been invited to teach at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Xi An Jiao Tong University of China, etc. He has provided executive education programs for Intel, Michelin, TE Connectivity, Bank of China (Hong Kong), V-Tech, Toshiba, Northern Ireland Business Association of UK, Guangdong Enterprises of China, CITIC Pacific, Li Ning Company Ltd., FWD Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd., etc.

He is also active in research and published at top academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal and Management International Review, etc. He co-founded and co-authored Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist Confidence Index which is featured at many newspapers and media including Bloomberg Financial Network, CNBC, etc. He has won many awards including the “Silicon Valley Roundtable Guru” Award from U.S. National Business Economics Association and Silicon Valley Roundtable, the Abramson Award for Outstanding Articles from Business Economic Journal.
