FAQs

1. What factors are considered in the selection?

We will consider the applicant's academic qualifications (i.e. degree honours/GPA), working experience, referees' recommendations, interview performance and GMAT/GRE score (if necessary). All shortlisted applicants will be invited for a face-to-face interview.

2. Should all supporting documents be submitted by the application deadline?

You are recommended to submit the online application first. The supporting document may arrive later.

3. Can I submit the application if I haven't taken GMAT/GRE?

You can submit the online application first, but we highly recommend you to take GMAT/GRE with a satisfactory score so as to be more competitive with other applicants.

4. Do I need to take TOEFL/IELTS?

If you were not educated at institutions where the primary language of instruction was English and your first language is not English, a satisfactory score on the TOEFL/IELTS is required. For TOEFL, the minimum score for Paper-based test (PBT) is 550 and Internet-based test (iBT) is 80. For IELTS, the minimum overall score is 6.0 and all sub-scores must be 5.5 or above. The scores for TOEFL/IELTS are valid for two years from the test date.

5. Who could be my referees?

As two reference letters are required, you should nominate two referees who know you well and can inform the University for your academic ability, charter and capacity for postgraduate study.

6. Is there any financial assistance offered to local students?

Local students can apply for the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) and Non-Means Tested Loan from the Hong Kong Government. The CEF provides the funding support up to HK$10,000.
