HKUST Business School's undergraduate programs focus on four areas essential for a business professional to succeed today. Well rounded training is achieved through a balance of academic and non-academic programs. These four areas provide the pillars on which the School's teaching is built, allowing students to emerge well-equipped to handle the challenges that await them.

Broad-based business and management education

A successful business professional should be a well-rounded individual with expertise in many areas of business and management. This belief underpins the development of the School's business and management curricula.

Global perspectives and international outlook

Programs are structured according to international best practices and standards. The School has Asia's most extensive overseas exchange network with close to 100 partner schools worldwide.

Integration of theory and practice

Internships are incorporated into most of the School's business programs through one-year in-company projects, one-year placements, summer internships, and field trips with major firms. Through these business immersion activities, students learn to apply theory to practice.

Strong language and communications skills

The importance of language and communication skills is recognized through our emphasis on English and Chinese (Putonghua) courses in the School's undergraduate business programs. There are also opportunities to learn a third language.
