Students sharpen their analytical skills, put theory into practice and widen their international perspective through these competitions that include participants from business schools worldwide. Teams dissect a business case, recommend strategic courses of action, and make presentations before a panel of judges.

Earn Credit for Competing in Business Competition

The HKUST Business School believes that through participating in business competitions, students can apply the concepts and principles learned throughout the program. This practical experience allows students to acquire effective techniques for interpersonal communication and teamwork, in addition to real life opportunities and the valuable experience of thinking-on-your-feet. Business competitions also simulates the urgency, complexity, and uncertainty prevalent in “real-world” business organizations.

Starting in 2008/2009, undergraduate business students who wish to earn 1-credit for competing in international or local business competitions (except case competitions organized by the School for students in BMGB 202) may enroll in the SBMT 103 Business Competitions once every academic year.
