[eNews] Wellness Series: Anti-Desk Stretch for Healthy Shoulders and Back

Office workers often spend long hours hunched over their desks. They can also suffer from varying degrees of tight shoulders, back pain, and poor quality of sleep. On June 9, BBA alumna Ebe CHAN conducted an online yoga workshop for our alumni community and introduced participants to Anti-Desk Stretch – a new exercise concept that addresses various office-related health issues.

Ebe originally worked as a marketing manager in the UK and Amsterdam before becoming a yoga entrepreneur to help office executives tackle laptop syndrome. Using a towel and other simple tools easily found at home, her stretching hacks provide instant relief on stress and tension around the neck, shoulders, and back.

Throughout the 30-minute workshop, participants were guided into different postures to stretch and reduce stiffness. As Ebe mentioned, “It’s all about effective stretching to make you feel your best.”

Ebe also helped participants focused on actively engaging their bodies through mindful breathing to help them relax their minds throughout the workshop. “When we have physical space in our bodies, we also have mental space…It’s really important to relieve our tension before we go to bed,” said Ebe.

Thanks to Ebe’s professional guidance, our participants enjoyed the exercises and were able to sleep well that night. Connect with Ebe and learn more about Anti-Desk Stretch at @antideskstretch on Instagram.
