Students taking second major in Economics is the same as major
students.

ECON 367
:
The course is a required courses for major and second major. The course is of 0 credit and graded pass or fail.
This course aims at provide a chance for students to have hands-on
research experience like data collection, processing and analysis.
Each students is required to do a project or research paper either
as part of an economics or an economics related course (approved by
the UG Coordinator), or, as an independent research project to be
supervised by a
faculty member.
Example: courses like ECON 214, 325 or ECON 347 requires
students to do an individual or group project. If you take the
course and fulfill the project requirement in any of these courses,
then you also fulfill the requirement of ECON 367.
Registration for this course
When you registered for a course that requires a project, you should
also enroll in ECON 367 in the same semester. Once you passed the project, you also pass
ECON 367. Students who failed to register for ECON 367 in the
final semester of their study need to do so in the winter or summer
session even though you finished the project requirement in the
elective course. So please remember to register for the course.
Footnotes
1) Students pass a course
which has a project or research paper requirement
automatically pass the ECON 367 courses. Students failing the course
but have written a satisfactory research paper are considered
passing ECON 367. 2) Students who
did a project when exchanged out .
3) Students who pass
pre-approved economics-related courses that have a project
requirement are also considered passing ECON 367.
In the case of (2) and (3), a hard copy of the project/research paper must be submitted to the Dept's UG Committee for approval.
