Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management at HKUST combine world-class research and award-winning teaching to train students for successful and productive careers in both industry and academia. In an increasingly digitally-enabled world, we examine how technology, information, and operations can be harnessed by both traditional and online companies to create a competitive edge. Our faculty members earned their PhDs from the world's top business schools, e.g., UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Illinois, Insead, MIT, Michigan, New York, Purdue, Stanford, and Texas Austin, among others. The department is ranked among the Top 20 ISOM departments in the world and 1st in Asia-Pacific, based on publications in ISR, MISQ, MS, and OR (for 2007-2011). The department hosts the Center for Electronic Commerce and co-hosts the Center for Marketing and Supply Chain Management.
