One Belt One Road Series

In recent years, the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative has created challenges and opportunities for the business community around the globe. As both an educator and a research powerhouse, the HKUST Business School is already undertaking research work and building relationship, so as to help executives and entrepreneurs seize the opportunities opened up by OBOR.  

Launched in 2013 by President Xi Jinping, the OBOR initiate aims to transform the level of connectivity, cooperation and trade between a band of nations stretching China, across Asia, and into Europe and Africa. Embracing more than 60 countires, with a combined population well in excess of four billion people, the scale and ambition of this project is breathtaking. 

Inevitably, entrepreneurs and investors will be looking for information about developing OBOR markets and for contacts with them. HKUST Business School joins hands with leading thinkers from the business arena, financial practitioners and academic faulty, to share their insights and advices to the business community. 


Two prominent leaders Dr Vincent H.S. Lo and Dr Hans Michael Jebsen, together with faculty of HKUST and our partner school, share their insights on what “One Belt One Road” means to the business world and Hong Kong as well as the role our School can play.


HKUST Business School researchers join hands with industry experts and practitioners to organize a talk series on One Belt One Road, to discuss what the initiative means to the business world, especially in the up-and-coming markets on the Maritime Silk Road and Central Asia.
