[eNews] New Open Program on Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship Launched

This Fall, the Executive Education Office launched a new open program – Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship – to help executives develop new ideas and generate impactful and desirable solutions to stay ahead in their field. Taught by alumnus Professor Jack LAU, the Program also featured three distinguished guest speakers from Airbnb, Madhead, and YAS MicroInsurance to share experience working in startups or becoming an entrepreneur.

Senior executives from 12 leading companies, including C-level executives, participated in the Program. They have an average of 18 years of working experience and represent 12 industries, including banking, finance, building and construction, conglomerate, logistics, government, non-profit, information technology, utilities, manufacturing, retail, and telecommunications.

The Program is specially designed to assist executives in developing an entrepreneurial mindset to meet their industry’s needs and expectations and create customer values and opportunities. The Program also addresses the challenges and solutions of design thinking and helps participants understand the process of design thinking, its lessons learned, mistakes made, and ratifications taken with real-life examples.

Participants found the Program inspiring and practical. Key learning points include empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, testing, and exploring insights from case studies and examples of the process.
