HKUST UG Business Students Take First Prize in the 17th HKUST International Case Competition (HKICC)

A team of four undergraduate business students from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology bested peers from a range of prestigious business schools and won the Championship at the HKUST International Case Competition (HKICC) on June 10, 2021. The first runner-up was The University of British Columbia and Thammasat University came in third.

This year marks the 17th anniversary of HKUST International Case Competition (HKICC), Asia’s first and leading international case competition.  It was held virtually from June 6 to June 10, 2021. And we are honored to have WeLab Bank as our Case company and sponsor. HKICC attracted 9 teams from seven places, including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, the Netherlands and the US. During this 5-day competition, teams collaborate online and put forward strategic recommendation to address business problems for WeLab Bank. Through the competition, students can exchange views and share experience with peers coming from world-renowned business schools in addition to getting feedback from experienced business executives who attended the competition as judges.
